   23/06/2008 : VEA July 2008 / Alloy extra

Selling prices invoiced by Erasteel generally consist of a base price negotiated with the customer, to which should be added the alloy surcharge (VEA) valid at time of shipment. As for other special steels, each grade surcharge results from the addition of the extras for main alloying elements, namely tungstene, molybenum, vanadium, cobalt, chromium, niobium and scrap. The extra is based on the 3-month average of official quotations equal or above the reference price, minus the reference price. The calculation is made by the SPAS, an external body, providing a guarantee of total transparency and accuracy, and is based on values which can be consulted in the Metal Bulletin and Eurostat. By clicking on the link above, you will find the VEA chart for the main grades offered by Erasteel.
